Big Walk Endings —Big Goodbye & Big Game
Two completion states on one save: finish the main walk, then decide whether to clear everything for the true ending.
Major ending spoilers follow. Close this page if your party still wants a cold first finish.
Big Walk does not branch into mutually exclusive endings. You complete them in order on the same host save. Big Goodbye is the normal campaign finish after the colored towers, the late Black Tower / wall route, and the final black sphere. Big Game is the 100% finish after post-game cleanup, the seven purple puzzles, every skipped normal challenge, the final key, and a hidden room near the start.
Pair this page with Tower Order and Black Tower & Wall for late landmarks, Achievements for trophy triggers, and Host Saves so the same host owns both endings.
Endings at a glance
| Ending | Achievement | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Big Goodbye | Finish the game | Main route complete —shared trip reaches its destination |
| Big Game | Completely finish the game | Every required puzzle cleared + hidden completion sequence |
Big Game does not replace Big Goodbye. It extends the same journey.
Route checklist —Big Goodbye
Before you treat the wall as “almost done,—confirm the party has:
- Finished Red, Green, Yellow, and Blue tower progression (map, ski lift, tunnels, train).
- Completed the late Black Tower step and opened the path toward the large black sphere.
- Entered the sphere and finished its final cooperative puzzles.
- Pressed the last button beside the hanging / suspended mechanism inside the sphere so the outer shell opens.
- Dropped down, followed the visible red route across the water to the small ending building.
- Used the Wave Goodbye prompt at the sign, pressed the entrance button, and walked inside together.
Black Tower —black sphere
Keep these landmarks separate so nobody soft-locks the social ending:
- Black Tower —late main-progression tower before the sphere route.
- Large black sphere —enclosed final puzzle space that opens after the hanging-mechanism button.
- Ending building —structure across the water where Wave Goodbye happens.
Pressing the sphere’s final button opens the sphere, not “another Black Tower.”
Wave Goodbye sequence
At the stairs / sign:
- Perform Wave Goodbye (keyboard prompts often show Q or E).
- Press the nearby entrance button —waving alone is not enough.
- Wait for the doorway, then enter as a group.
- Continue the short red-lit interior sequence until Big Goodbye unlocks.
Treat this like the end of a hike: you arrive, wave, and leave together —not a boss fight.
What changes after Big Goodbye
Stay on the same save. Typical world-state cues:
- The large black sphere stays visibly broken open.
- The map gains seven purple post-game puzzles.
- Any normal puzzles you skipped earlier still count against 100%.
- The final key does not appear from Big Goodbye alone.
Your group can stop here if the goal was simply finishing the campaign. Achievement hunters continue.
Route checklist —Big Game (true ending)
- Finish Big Goodbye and reload the same host world.
- Clear all seven purple post-game puzzles — tactics on Purple Puzzles.
- Return to the Map Room mindset and wipe every remaining normal marker.
- Deliver every leftover completion piece to its matching room —do not leave physical rewards in backpacks forever.
- Check the final-key position near the beginning; collect the key only after it rises.
- Carry that key (one permanent carrier) back to the early-game locked door / hidden room.
- Enter, stay for the full short reading, then walk through the white opening behind the group.
- Wait for the completion screen that confirms Big Game.
Why the final key is missing
| Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|
| Purple set incomplete | Recount all seven, not only the obvious ones |
| Skipped normal puzzle | Re-scan the island map after Red Tower tools |
| Challenge half-finished | Confirm the challenge actually produced its reward |
| Completion object abandoned | Search challenge site, caches, and backpacks |
| Checked too early | Big Goodbye alone never spawns the key |
If the key pad is empty, return to cleanup —do not spam every early door hoping for a soft-lock skip.
What the true ending is “about”
Without inventing lore beyond the presentation: the full-completion reading centers the players, not a hidden villain. House House built the island; your party created the experience by splitting up, mistranslating callouts, waiting, joking, and solving together. The ask for a shared memory is the point —which is why spoiling the exact wording here would miss the joke.
After Big Game you can usually Continue and wander again. Full completion is a pause, not a deletion of the save.
Party logistics for ending nights
- Keep the same host across Big Goodbye and Big Game nights —Host Saves.
- Assign a key carrier and a map caller before purple cleanup.
- Prefer in-game proximity chat so speechless / muffled rooms still work; Version 1.4.8 already leveled quiet mics —patch notes.
- Large lobbies should split into cleanup pods with walkie-talkies and flares, then reunite at the Map Room.
Spoiler boundaries on this wiki
This page names late landmarks and completion order. It does not print full black-sphere puzzle solutions or the reading’s exact text. For earlier tower priorities without ending spoilers, stay on Tower Order. For trophy triggers that stop short of full walkthroughs, use Achievements.
Optional cosmetics while cleaning up: Shiny & Big Makeover.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common Big Walk questions.
How many endings does Big Walk have?
Two sequential completion states on one save: Big Goodbye for the main route, and Big Game for full puzzle completion.
Do I need 100% for Big Goodbye?
No. Big Goodbye finishes the main tower, Black Tower, black sphere, and Wave Goodbye route. Full cleanup is only required for Big Game.
Can we continue after Big Goodbye?
Yes. Keep the same host save. The sphere stays open and seven purple post-game puzzles appear for the 100% route.
Is the Black Tower the same as the black sphere?
No. The Black Tower is earlier late-game progression. The large black sphere is the final enclosed puzzle area before Wave Goodbye.
Why hasn’t the final key appeared?
Finish Big Goodbye, all seven purple puzzles, every skipped normal puzzle, and required deliveries —then recheck the key position near the beginning.
